Duplicate File Finder -- The Biggest Space Saver

Temporary files and browser caches typically waste a few hundred megabytes. Duplicate files often waste tens of gigabytes.

The duplicate scanner runs as part of every scan and checks your Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Pictures, Music, and Videos folders for files that have identical copies elsewhere on your computer. It uses a fast two-pass approach: first grouping files by size, then verifying matches with secure hashing -- so it is fast even on large file collections. A hash cache remembers previous results, so repeat scans finish nearly instantly.

The scanner is free. After every scan, you see exactly how many duplicates were found, how much space they waste, and what the largest duplicates are. You can browse the full list, see every file path, and understand the problem completely.

Cleaning duplicates requires registration ($19.99). When you register, the "Remove Duplicates" action becomes available. The app keeps the oldest copy of each file (the original) and removes the newer copies. Duplicates can be moved to Recycle Bin or permanently deleted, and secure shredding is available for sensitive files.

Browser Cleaning -- All Major Browsers

Clean cached data from Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, and Opera -- including:

Safety First

• System Restore Point -- Before cleaning anything, the app creates a Windows System Restore point. If something does not feel right after cleaning, you can roll back. On by default.
• Nothing Is Deleted Without Your Permission -- The app scans first, shows you everything, and waits. You click "Clean" only when you are ready.

Scanning and Results

The first time you open RJL System Cleaner, you are greeted with a simple explanation of what the tool does and a single button to get started. No walls of checkboxes, no jargon.

A live scan runs in seconds. The counter updates in real time as files are discovered. You can cancel at any point -- the tool never changes anything during the scan phase.

After scanning, every junk source is listed by name with its file count, size, and a plain-English safety rating. Everything is visible before you clean a single file.

Toggle "Show file details" to see every individual file the scanner found. Sort by size, age, safety rating, or category. Power users and IT admins can review and deselect individual files before cleaning.

Duplicate Files and Cleaning

Even a freshly cleaned machine can harbor gigabytes of duplicate files. The duplicate scanner runs automatically with every scan and identifies every group -- scanning is always free, removing them requires registration.

When your selection includes items marked "Review", RJL warns you before proceeding. You choose to include or skip those items -- the tool never deletes anything without your explicit go-ahead.

The completion screen breaks down exactly what was removed by category. Duplicate files found during the scan are surfaced again here so you always know how much additional space is still available.

Sidebar and Administrator Access

Every cleaning category is listed in the sidebar with a checkbox. Pre-checked items are safe defaults. Categories only appear if the corresponding app or Windows component is actually installed on your machine.

Without administrator rights, deep system locations are locked out. Items that need elevation are highlighted in red so you know exactly what you are missing -- click Run as Administrator to unlock them all.

Clicking Run as Administrator triggers the standard Windows UAC prompt. RJL System Cleaner never silently elevates itself -- you always control when and whether to grant administrator access.

Settings and Upgrade

The Cleaning settings tab controls how old temp files must be before removal, whether to create a safety restore point first, how to handle browsers that are open during cleaning, and optional secure file shredding.

Before anything is deleted, a full summary shows every category, file count, and size being removed. Read it, confirm, and proceed -- or cancel. Nothing is deleted until you say yes.

The upgrade dialog lists exactly what you get for a one-time $19.99 -- no subscription, no recurring charges. Your last scan's duplicate file count is shown so the value is concrete, not abstract.
